Binghamton wrestling to send three wrestlers to NCAA Championships

VESTAL, N.Y. (WBNG) - The NCAA has unveiled the seeds for the wrestling NCAA Championships with Binghamton earning three spots.
Bearcat wrestlers Brevin Cassella, Jacob Nolan, and Cory Day will all travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma to compete.
Nolan is the No. 19 seed at 184 pounds as this is his third consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championships. The redshirt junior enters the tournament with a 20-7 record and will take on No. 14 Will Feldkamp from Clarion in the first round. If Nolan is able to beat Feldkamp, he could be matched up with No. 3 Aaron Brooks of Penn State in the second round. Brooks ahs won the last two NCAA titles at 184 pounds.
Day is the No. 26 seed at heavyweight. This is the first appearance for the redshirt junior as he will take on No. 7 seed Owen Trephan of North Carolina State in the opening round. The two faced off earlier this season at North Carolina State and Trephan won by major decision 11-0.
Cassella is the No. 26 seed at 165 pounds. The sophomore is taking on the No. 7 seed Michael Caliendo from North Dakota State.
The first round starts on Thursday, March 16 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
