House demolished after fire on Charlotte Street in Binghamton
BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- Binghamton fire and police responded to a blaze at a home at 33 1/2 Charlotte St. on Friday, March 24.
The call came in just before 12:30 p.m. and Binghamton Fire, Binghamton Police, and Superior Ambulance responded to the scene.
Upon arrival teams discovered the house had its siding melting off with smoke billowing out of the windows. The sides of the home were also charred black.
A construction company was called to the scene after the floors began to collapse to assist in stopping the spread of the fire to neighboring houses.
According to the Binghamton Fire Department the house has since been knocked down, the department said it took quite some time before the fire was completely put out.
12 News confirmed with Binghamton Fire that no one was injured as the home was vacant at the time and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
