SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WBNG) - Syracuse football has dismissed wide receiver Damien Alford from the program, according to a report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel. Alford was the Orange’s leading receiver during the 2023 season.

Alford caught 33 passes for 610 yards and three touchdowns in 2023. He averaged 18.5 yards per catch last season. In 2022, he averaged 21.5 yards a catch on 20 receptions. Overall, he played in 42 games and totaled 67 catches for 1,291 yards.

The Syracuse squad has lost 37 players since the end of the previous campaign, including walk-ons and players who have used up all of their eligibility. Fran Brown, the new Syracuse head coach, has brought in 34 new players through recruiting and the transfer portal.
