Brandon Sproat named to MILB All-Star Futures roster
BINGHAMTON, NY (WBNG) -- Binghamton Rumble Ponies All-Star Starting Pitcher Brandon Sproat has a bright future ahead of him. The righty was named on Tuesday to the 2024 MILB All-Star Futures Games.
In 13 Minor League games appearances in 2024, with both the Ponies and the Brooklyn Cyclones, Sproat has recorded a 5-1 record with a 1.61 ERA. The Mets 2nd Round draft pick has 76 strikeouts, while allowing just 39 hits and 5 home runs all season.
Sproat right now is the Mets #6 prospect in the organization, and the #97 prospect in all of Major League Baseball.
12 Sports spoke with Rumble Ponies Manager Reid Brignac about his Starters’ effect on the club this season, “He’s done a great job for us. He’s done a great job attacking the strike zone, mixing all his pitches in zone. He’s got a great mentality and work ethic. He’s done everything we’ve asked, and more, so we’re excited for his future,” said Brignac.
The MILB All-Star Futures game is on July, 13th. The game will be held in Arlington, Texas; home of the Texas Rangers.
