DICK’S House of Sport hosts Summer athletic skills clinic
JOHNSON CITY (WBNG) -- DICK’s House of Sport will offer soccer, football, baseball and lacrosse camps for elementary-aged boys and girls throughout the remainder of the summer. DICK’s first installment of this summer-long sports series focused on a three-day-long lacrosse camp.
Campers told 12 News what they were the most excited for. “Maybe like shooting, passing, playing with my friends,” said one camper.
“Probably like the people who work here and they instructed us and they’re just really nice,” said another. Some campers told 12 Sports lacrosse was fun to play and another said they enjoyed receiving medals.
The three-hour first day consisted of passing drills, cradling and face-off practice, catching and shooting development and frequent ice cream and water breaks in the cool shade. After the drills and instruction portion of the day, the campers split up into even teams and played in a scrimmage. In that game, they could implement the various skills they learned before arriving at the camp.
A camper listed their favorite parts of the camp and said, “Shooting goals, playing games, coaches Jeremy and Seth, it’s all fun.”
