Police: Three people go over guide rail in Niagara Falls

NIAGARA FALLS, NY (WBNG) -- New York State Police announced on Wednesday that three people intentionally fell over a safety guide rail in Niagara Falls.

State Police identified them Chaianti Means, 33, Roman Rossman, 9, and Mecca Means, who was 5-months-old. All three are from Niagara Falls.

Police responded to the scene around 9 p.m. on Oct. 28. They said an investigation determined that they crossed over the safety guide rail over Niagara Falls on Luna Island on purpose. However, police noted that the circumstances remain under investigation.

The New York State Park Police and State Police conducted search and rescue efforts with negative results.

There is no threat to public safety.

NYS Park Police Unmanned Aircraft Systems, NYSPP Marine Patrol, NYSP Aviation, Underwater Recovery Unit, Niagara Falls Police Department and Niagara Charter Schools are assisting State Police with the investigation.
