(WBNG) -- Doug’s Fish Fry is rolling out a new 22-foot trailer, making it the largest in their fleet, with a goal of enhancing the customer experience while continuing their charitable efforts.

The new trailer is set to launch in mid-March, and will feature a variety of upgrades, including 10 sit-in bar seats, a new music system and an improved HVAC system to keep employees comfortable in warm and cold temperatures.

Owner of Doug’s Fish Fry and To Go, Mark Braun, explained the business wants this new trailer to feel like a community event.

“People can wait, they can talk, they can sit in line, they can stand and listen to music and talk to their neighbors, that’s the newest thing, that we’ve never put on a trailer before,” said Braun.

Doug’s Fish Fry introduced its first To-Go mobile trailer, in 2007. Over the years, the business has expanded, with five trailers in the fleet (two now retired), and raised over $2 million for local charities. The trailers frequent 8 counties around the Southern Tier.

“I said I just want to raise 20 thousand dollars for local charities through our platform and, you know, 17 years later we’re at 2 million dollars,” said Braun. “We’ve met so many great organizations, and partners, and customers.”

The new trailer will also include a microphone, allowing customers to wait in their cars while hearing their names called when their food is ready. Additionally, the trailer will feature a freezer for their signature frozen sundaes, so customers can enjoy treats on the go.

Braun added that their loyalty program is a great benefit to customers. There is easy sign-up via QR codes on the trailer. The program offers birthday promos, discount codes, and more.

The new trailer is being built in Florida by a company that has previously built three trailers for Doug’s Fish Fry and will be shipped up in time for the busy season.

Doug’s Fish Fry is also exploring a potential partnership with Lowe’s, and Braun is keeping customers updated on the new trailer’s progress via the restaurant’s Facebook page at this link.
