Binghamton women’s basketball misses two crucial late game free throws to lose 54-53 against Maine

ORONO, ME (WBNG) -- The Bearcats dropped its road matchup at the University of Maine 54-53.
Binghamton entered the third quarter up 43-34 before the Black Bears took control of the game.
Maine went on a 14-0 run to go up 50-48 with 1:03 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Sophomore guard Yanniah Boyd scored five unanswered points for the Bearcats before the Black Bears converted two free throws with nine seconds left in regulation with the Southern Tier unit up by one.
Junior guard Kaia Goode went to the line with six seconds remaining and missed both free throws for Binghamton.
Maine drove down the court to hit a layup with two seconds left to win 54-53.
The Bearcats leading scorer was redshirt junior guard Jadyn Weltz with 13 points.
Binghamton holds a 6-9 America East record and will host its last game of the regular season on March 1st against UMass Lowell. The matchup will be the Bearcats Senior Day.
