Driver arrested for DWI after car crashes into parked boat and tow truck in Colesville
COLESVILLE, N.Y. (WBNG) -- A Windsor man has been charged with driving while intoxicated following a crash involving a boat and a tow truck in the Town of Colesville.
On Jan. 5, at approximately 12:46 a.m., members of the Broome County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a crash on Route 79.
Upon arrival, deputies found a Ford Expedition smashed underneath a boat, with the back end of the boat pressed against a residence.
An investigation revealed that the car left the roadway and struck the parked boat, which collided with a residence and a tow truck nearby.
According to sheriff’s deputies, the driver of the car, Matthew P. O’Niell, 40, of Windsor, displayed several signs of intoxication.
Following field sobriety test guidelines, O’Niell was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and multiple traffic violations.
No injuries were reported.
The Broome County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Broome Ambulance Services.
