Police respond to school bus crash, injured students transported to the hospital

TRUXTON, N.Y. (WBNG) -- Three students were transported to the hospital after a school bus crash in Truxton, according to New York State Police.

Upon arrival, first responders found a school bus on its side at the intersection of South Hill Road and Singleton Road.

The bus was from the Homer Central School District, with 11 elementary school-aged children, the bus driver and a bus aide on board.

A 7-year old girl, a 7-year-old boy and a 9-year-old boy were transported to Upstate University Hospital for two head injuries and a hand injury.

Several other minor injuries were reported. The remaining students were transferred to another bus and continued on their morning commute.

The New York State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit also responded to the scene. Troopers were additionally assisted by Truxton Fire, CAVAC Ambulance, Cincinnatus Ambulance, CNY Towing and Morey’s Towing.
