Shabeli was raised on the west coast of Puerto Rico and in Boise, Idaho. She graduated in 2022 from the University of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Political Science.
During her time at the university, she worked at KOMU 8, the student-run station at the Missouri School of Journalism, a local NBC affiliate station in Columbia, Missouri. Eventually, she moved to ABC 17 News, a local station in Columbia, Missouri where she was a morning reporter. Shabeli was also the president of her sorority during her senior year of college.
Shabeli has always wanted to live on the east coast so she is thrilled to be in New York! Shabeli loves to shop, travel, and binge-watch tv during her free time.
