There’s a new class coming to high school sports in New York in 2023. The NYSPHSAA Central Committee approve a measure beginning with the 2023-24 academic year, the sports of baseball, softball, basketball, and soccer will be eligible for a sixth classification (AAA).

Harding entered the day two strokes behind Sitts, but after shooting a 73 in the final round on Sunday, he was able to force a one-hole playoff with Sitts who shot a 75. In the playoff, which was played on hole one, Harding got a par which was good enough to give him the championship.
