Red Dragons clinch conference crown with comeback win over Brockport

BROCKPORT, NY (WBNG) -- The Cortland Red Dragons have won 21 games in a row, and now have won 4 straight Empire 8 Conference championships in a row.
The Red Dragons scored 9 unanswered points in the 4th quarter to comeback and win 29-28 over the Brockport Golden Eagles. The win moved the defending D-III National Champions to 9-0 overall, and a perfect 7-0 in Empire 8 play.
Cortland Senior Quarterback Zac Boyes went 33-of-52 on the day; throwing for 414 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Senior Mike Baloga drilled a 38 yard field goal with just 27 seconds remaining in the game to put the Red Dragons in the lead for the first and only time all afternoon.
The Red Dragons extended their school record winning streak to 21 games in a row, and conference winning streak to 26 games in a row.
Cortland finishes up the regular season with the Ithaca Bombers and the 65th battle for the Cortaca Jug. Kickoff for the Cortaca game is at 12:00pm at Grady Field in Cortland.
