Binghamton residents rally against cuts to veteran services

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WBNG) -- People gathered today in downtown Binghamton to rally against Republican cuts to veteran services.

Citizen Action of New York, Indivisible Binghamton and local community leaders protested these cuts.

According to officials, republicans have proposed slashing 80,000 veteran affairs jobs, which could impact the quality of care and support that veterans rely on.

The organizations said that instead of gutting those essential services, the government should ensure that they are fully staffed and funded.
