Broome County United Way receives Avangrid Foundation Grant Support

BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. (WBNG) -- The Avangrid Foundation, in partnership with NYSEG has announced a grant of $20,000 to support United Way of Broome County’s Healthy Lifestyles Coalition, or HLC.

The HLC is a Collective Impact initiative that reflects the Avangrid Foundation’s mission by collaborating with the community and encouraging healthy lifestyle behaviors. The HLC provides access to healthy food and opportunities to exercise.

Through the grant, Broome County United Way can design fitness center programming, continue family programming, support administrative functions and hold large-scale events.

“We are extremely grateful to Avangrid Foundation’s commitment to our community. These grant dollars will further the HLC programming, increase healthy eating habits, and will have a positive, lasting impact on the North Side community,” noted Broome County United Way Executive Director Paula Perna. “We are excited to partner with the Avangrid Foundation in support of such vital programs meeting such a critical need in our area.”
