CORTLAND, N.Y. (WBNG) -- A Virgil woman was arrested on several charges after the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a domestic dispute.

On Jan. 14, officers arrived at a residence in Virgil and conducted an investigation that determined that 28-year-old Rebecca S. Matthewson had allegedly engaged in a physical altercation with another person in the residence.

Matthewson was arrested and charged with criminal mischief, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and harassment in the second degree.

She was transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office, where she was arraigned and then released on her own recognizance.

Matthewson is scheduled to appear in court in the Town of Virgil at the end of January.
