AVENTURA, Fla. (WPLG) - The owner of a Florida supermarket wants to find the suspect allegedly caught on camera stuffing everything from steak to brisket down his pants.

Phil Einhorn owns Kosher Kingdom, a supermarket in Aventura. He says on Monday, surveillance video caught a man going up to the high-end steak aisle and shoving brisket down his pants.

“He came over here, looked around to see if anybody was looking and shoved it in his pants,” Einhorn said. “Big, big, big pants. I think they’re made for stealing. They’re blocked at the bottom, so it doesn’t go through.”

Video shows a store employee walking by then the suspect shoving a nearly $100 cowboy steak in his pants. He also allegedly stole wine.

Einhorn says the suspect eventually gave the steak back.

“We were shocked. When he gave back the one steak, I thought, ‘OK, I got it back, what he stole,’” Einhorn said. “Then, when we found out there was this thing [the brisket] in his pants, it was unbelievable.”

After employees chased the suspect out of the store, he went across the street to Publix. Einhorn says an employee who was on break then saw he had the brisket and wine, so they called police and were able to get everything back.

“Meat prices continue to go up. It’s not us raising it; it’s the whole industry. Our margins are very tiny,” Einhorn said.

The suspect ran off before police arrived, but Einhorn says they were able to give a good description of him. He hopes the man is found.

Kosher Kingdom has been in Einhorn’s family for three generations, and he has a clear message for those who come inside.

“We want to let people know that you can’t come in and steal. It’s not right. We’re a family business trying to make it,” he said.
