Guthrie Cortland temporarily relocates Emergency Department entrance
CORTLAND, N.Y. (WBNG) -- The Guthrie Cortland Medical Center is temporarily relocating its Emergency Department (ED) and Cardiology entrance this week.
From 7 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, until 5 p.m. on Friday, June 5, the temporary ED entrance will be through the ambulance bay. Posted signage will direct visitors seeking emergency care to the proper location.
Additionally, starting Thursday at 7 a.m., cardiology patients are asked to use the main entrance on the north side of the hospital to check in until Friday, June 12.
GCMC will make every effort to contact patients with cardiology appointments scheduled on those days to inform them of this temporary change
The relocation is due to the installation of new doors in the original entrance, which is part of GCMC’s current phase of its $7.2 million transformational ED renovation.
Since September 2024, the revamp has focused on improving the comfort, function and flow of the waiting room and triage area.
According to GCMC, previous phases introduced a redesign of the ambulance bay, the addition of a permanent decontamination room and additional rooms in the ED.
