Two arrested after stabbing at Delhi motel

DELHI, N.Y. (WBNG) -- Two people have been arrested after a stabbing that occured in the Village of Delhi, according to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.

On Saturday, July 4, police were dispatched to an assault complaint at the Buena Vista Motel in Delhi.

Upon arrival, police found a victim suffering from a stab wound at the Motel.

After interviewing the victim and a witness to the assault, police identified the suspect as Christopher Barnhart, 39, of Delhi.

Barnhart was charged with:

  • Assault in the 1st and 2nd degrees
  • Menacing
  • Unlawful imprisonment
  • Criminal possession of a weapon

He was arraigned and remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility.

During an investigation, deputies also arrested Kollin Bush, 34, of Delhi, for obstruction of governmental administration.

Bush was transported to the sheriff’s office, processed, and issued an appearance ticket for Town of Delhi Court at a later date.
