Vestal Fire Department says dryer started house fire

VESTAL (WBNG) -- The Vestal Fire Department released new details about a house fire on Murray Hill Road.
The department was dispatched to the scene around 1 p.m. on Tuesday for a report of a possible dryer fire.
The department said crews encountered heavy smoke inside the home. They noted that the fire extended from out of the dryer and into the house.
The department said the blaze grew in size and a second alarm was requested.
Units from Endicott, Endwell and West Corners responded to the blaze to assist. The Vestal Police Department and Vestal Volunteer Emergency Squad also responded.
No injuries were reported, the Vestal Fire Department said.
Murray Hill Road was closed to traffic as crews battled the blaze.
