One dead after crash in Town of Preble

PREBLE, N.Y. (WBNG) -- The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash that took place in Preble near State Route 281 and Preble Road on Oct. 24, at 10:45 p.m.
Investigators determined that a Ford SUV failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck in the intersection by a Ford pickup truck.
The driver of the SUV, Wallace Grevelding, died as a result of injuries sustained during the crash.
The driver of the pickup truck was transported to Upstate Medical Center for their injuries.
The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Preble Fire Department, Tully Fire Department, Homer Fire Department, TLC, the Cortland County Coroners’ Office, the New York State Police, the New York State Department of Transportation and Ron’s Towing.
