Ithaca City School District passes $177.6 million budget, approves capital projects

ITHACA, N.Y. (WBNG) -- The Ithaca City School District passed its $177,638,041 budget on Tuesday, pending Board of Education approval.
The budget passed in a 2,669 to 864 vote.
Several capital initiatives were also passed during Tuesday’s election, including the 2026 capital project, the establishment of a new capital reserve fund and the appropriation and expenditure of capital reserve fund.

Three candidates were elected to the Ithaca City School Board of Education; Sara Garner received 2,924 votes, Jill K. Tripp received 2,739 votes, and Garrick Blalock received 1,944.
The Board of Education will certify the results on Wednesday, May 20 at 6:30 p.m.
